Our Story

Steve has always been drawn to the dream of one-day retiring on a farm. He enjoys the satisfaction of the self-sustaining lifestyle and could not think of a better way to combine relaxation and hard work into one past time.

In 2007 Steve found what he at the time believed would be the final love of his life in Marion, Kansas.  He purchased Stone House Farm with the dream of retiring there, lovingly renovating, and working the land throughout his golden years.  Little did Steve realize he’d mentally written the final chapter of his book before the story was done unfolding…

In 2011 while attending a Colorado Rockies game, close friends Becky and Brent (Earthman) introduced Steve to Kaye.  She was the exciting new plot twist he didn’t see coming, wasn’t expecting, but wouldn’t be the same without.

To say Kaye added a bit of flavor to the couple would be both figurative and literal.  Kaye is the chef of the house and enjoys preparing nutritious meals, canning, and preserving.  What good are a farm and its harvest without a visionary to put it to use in the pantry and kitchen!

We hope your journey has as many fun plot twists as ours has had so far. We look forward to sharing the journey with anyone who wants to follow along with us!

Our Groupies

The Stone House Groupies is our fun little group that we have set up to help old friends stay in the know, family keep up to date on what we are doing, and new friends a way to feel at home.

Of Course we could just do this through a facebook group or email list, but we really wanted a way to keep it true to the simple farm house life.  All the things that make social media great without all garbage that takes the fun out of it.

If you are looking for a fun way to keep in touch and meet other Stone House Groupies then sign up.  If it doesn’t sound fun to you… then don’t we won’t hold it against you.
